My rules for smart tags and categories have stopped working.

Due to a bug in version 2.36.0, the rules for smart tags and categories no longer work. We apologize for the mistake, it was not intended!

Your previously smart categorized / tagged transactions keep their category or tag. However, the rules for future transactions have been deleted. That means: If the automatic categorization does not work for you, you have to manually adjust the category or have to re-assign the tag to the transaction.


We decided not to fix it.

The reason: We are currently working on a new category system. The new system allows you to create your own categories and rules – the most requested feature on our feature wish list. If we were to fix the bug from version 2.36.0 onwards, you'd have two tasks: set up all the smart tags and categories now AND create your own categories and rules as soon as the new system is ready. We want to spare you that.


When will the new category system come?

It will be a few more months before the new category system is available. Currently, we are currently unable to provide any further details – but they will come. We will of course keep you up to date, please be patient!
