To transfer your data to a new Windows device, please use the local backups:
- Launch the Outbank app on the device with your latest data, go to 'Settings' and then 'Backups.'
- Create a new backup or select an existing one, then choose 'Send' and select your preferred option, such as via email. Send the backup to your own email address.
- If you haven't already done so, install Outbank on your new Windows device through the Amazon Appstore.
- Download the backup file from Outbank to your Windows device and save it in a designated local folder.
Check if the file extension is ".obk" has been removed during data transfer. If yes, simply rename the file. Make sure that there are no extra spaces in the filename.
(Example of correct filename: Outbank_Backup_20230907-1752+0000.obk) - Open the ‘Windows Subsystem for Android’ program on your Windows device and go to ‘Advanced Settings’.
- Below ‘Experimental Features’ enable ‘Share User Folders’.
- Restart ‘Windows Subsystem for Android’ to apply the changes.
- Go back to ‘Windows Subsystem for Android’, open ‘System’ > ‘Files’, and open the ‘Windows’ folder. This folder should display all your local data. If not, you may need to restart your device.
- Locate the backup in the ‘Windows’ folder, and move it to a folder in the Windows Subsystem for Android (e.g. Documents or Downloads). You can also create a new folder for your Outbank backups in Windows Subsystem for Android and move the backup there.
- Launch Outbank on your device. The app has to be opened in the background to restore a backup.
- Go back to Windows Subsystem for Android and select the backup file. Then go to 'Options' > 'Open with' and choose Outbank as the target application.
- Outbank will be automatically activated. Enter the app password you used when creating the backup.
Important Note: After restoring a backup, you must log in again with your Outbank ID and restore your subscription. Simply choose the "Restore Purchase" option within your app.
