How can I transfer my Outbank data from iOS to Windows?

To transfer your Outbank data from your iPhone or iPad to a Windows device, please use the local backups: 

  1. Launch the Outbank app on the iOS device, go to 'Settings' and then 'Backups.'
  2. Create a new backup or select an existing one, then choose 'Send' and select your preferred option, such as via email. Send the backup to your own email address. 
  3. If you haven't already done so, install Outbank on your new Windows device through the Amazon Appstore
  4. Download the backup file from Outbank to your Windows device and save it in a designated local folder.
    Check if the file extension is ".obk" has been removed during data transfer. If yes, simply rename the file. Make sure that there are no extra spaces in the filename.
    (Example of correct filename: Outbank_Backup_20230907-1752+0000.obk)
  5. Open the ‘Windows Subsystem for Android’ program on your Windows device and go to ‘Advanced Settings’.
  6. Below ‘Experimental Features’ enable ‘Share User Folders’. 
  7. Restart ‘Windows Subsystem for Android’ to apply the changes. 
  8. Go back to ‘Windows Subsystem for Android’, open ‘System’ > ‘Files’, and open the ‘Windows’ folder. This folder should display all your local data. If not, you may need to restart your device. 
  9. Locate the backup in the ‘Windows’ folder, and move it to a folder in the Windows Subsystem for Android (e.g. Documents or Downloads). You can also create a new folder for your Outbank backups in Windows Subsystem for Android and move the backup there.
  10. Launch Outbank on your device.  The app has to be opened in the background to restore a backup.
  11.  Go back to Windows Subsystem for Android and select the backup file. Then go to 'Options' > 'Open with' and choose Outbank as the target application.
  12. Outbank will be automatically activated. Enter the app password you used when creating the backup.

Important Note: One Subscription for all devices 
If you've already purchased the Outbank subscription in the iOS App Store, you can transfer it to your Windows device. To do so, sign in to both devices using the same Outbank ID email address in the Settings of Outbank.
If you don't already have an Outbank ID, you can create a new one through the app's settings.
