Add Account
You add your ING accounts, please use the same login data you use for the online banking website.
- access number
- 5-10 digits Internetbanking-PIN
Note on PIN length:
ING PINs can officially only have a maximum length of 10 characters. In the bank’s online banking portal, however, PINs of any length are accepted. In the Outbank app, please enter only the first 10 characters of your Internet banking PIN, even if it is longer - otherwise it will be rejected by the bank.
Important change: Starting in February 2025, ING started to introduce a new login process: https://www.ing.de/lp/login-neu/
-
New customers receive a username and password directly.
-
Existing customers can continue to log in with their old access number and PIN. However, ING will gradually require existing customers to switch to the new login method. Customers have to switch manually on ING’s website.
Once the login credentials have been updated by the bank, they must also be updated in Outbank under:
'Settings' > 'Bank Credentials' > 'ING Login' > 'Credentials' > Enter new Credentials
Please note ING’s requirements for new login credentials:
- Username:
- Must be at least 8 and at most 20 characters long
- Letters (no umlauts, no ß) and digits are allowed
- Special characters allowed: period (.), underscore (_), hyphen (-)
- Must contain at least 1 letter
- No spaces allowed
- Special characters may not follow each other
- Must not begin with a period - Password:
- Must be at least 8 and at most 64 characters long
- Must include: one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit, and one special character
- Must not be identical to the username
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
ING only provides checking accounts and extra accounts via the FinTS/HBCI interface. Over this interface, two-factor authentication is required only once every 90 days. All other account types are fetched by Outbank via so-called screenscraping directly from ING’s online banking website. On the website, ING currently requires two-factor authentication for every login. For this reason, Outbank must also prompt you to complete 2FA each time you refresh these accounts.
As a workaround, you can reduce the update interval for the affected accounts under 'Settings' > 'Refresh Accounts'.
Known Limitations
- No Payments
Since September 2019 (PSD2), ING no longer provides the transfer feature via the FinTS/HBCI interface. Therefore, it is no longer possible to make transfers through the Outbank app.
